All programs are designed to offer technical and interpersonal skills to strengthen this therapeutic relationship. Eric Stephenson, LMT, NCTMB
Director, Massage Education
       
Eric Stephenson, LMT, NCTMB. As Director of Education for imassage, Inc., Eric creates continuing education focused on career longevity for massage schools, spas and professional organizations nationwide. He is a former lead instructor of the Body Therapy Institute in Silk Hope, NC and The Lexington Healing Arts Academy in Lexington, KY, helping in the design of the hands-on massage curriculum. He has completed The Spirit of Learning®, a 90-hour massage educator-training program.
His presentations have included the American Massage Therapy National Convention, The International Spa Association Conference, The World Massage Conference and AMTA state conventions. Eric is a regular contributor to Massage Magazine.

John McKelvey, LMBT, NCTMB
Instructor
       
John received his massage therapy training from the Body Therapy Institute (BTI) in NC where he is currently a Lead Instructor as well as the program manager for the Massage Therapy Diploma Program. Drawing upon his knowledge as a graduate teaching assistant at UNC and lead hands-on instructor for BTI, John brings many years of teaching experience to imassage. In addition to being nationally certified and licensed in the state of North Carolina, John is a certified Kinesis Structural Integrationist, a 500-hour program taught by Tom Myers. He has completed The Spirit of Learning®, a 90-hour massage educator-training program.
John holds an MS in Geology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS in Natural Resources from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. His private practice is based in Chapel Hill, NC.

Tara Thompson, LMT, NCTMB
Teaching Assistant
       
Tara is a current imassage teacher in-training. She completed a 1,000 hour program at the Omaha School of Massage Therapy and is licensed to practice in Nebraska, where she is the owner of Downtown Omaha Massage. In addition to teaching and her practice, Tara is the Director of Continuing Education for the Omaha School of Massage Therapy.

Debra Koerner
Senior Consultant, Client Experience
       
Debra began her career in the often-turbulent waters of the corporate world. She held top positions in sales and marketing, but found true happiness when chosen to lead a Fortune 250's customer experience for 800 franchise and corporate service centers. Bringing these skills to her consultancy practice, she works with companies who do the work required to understand their customers and employees and then exhibit the willingness to use this information strategically to deliver a flawless experience.
Debra co-founded imassage and brings her knowledge of consumer behavior to all integral parts of the company. She is a member of the International Spa Association's marketing committee and a regular presenter for national conferences. A seasoned workshop leader, she has a wide array of business knowledge, including expertise in strategy development, customer satisfaction assessment, training design and large-scale event planning.

Tracey J. Moon, LMBT
Workshop Coordinator
       
Tracey is the newest team member to join imassage. She brings a
passion for the massage industry along with excellent organizational
skills to ensure superior workshop experiences. Prior to joining
imassage, Tracey spent many years in all aspects of the massage
therapy business, including building a private practice, working at a
destination spa, running a massage product distribution company and
teaching business and marketing. Most recently, she was Director of
Massage Therapy Services at Duke Integrative Medicine where she
successfully built an integrative massage program from inception.
Tracey has a B.S. in Business from the University of Delaware. In
1998, she completed her massage education at the Body Therapy
Institute in NC. She is a graduate of The Spirit of LearningR, a
massage educator program and is an Associated Massage and Bodywork
Professionals Association member. She attributes her long career to
yoga, meditation, community, a strong massage training foundation and
practices in living simply.
